Department Overview

Modern society is facing the various problems that must be solved such as energy and environmental problem. In this department, we aim to aware them.

We foster energetic graduates with a challenging spirit and strong convictions and tackling the problems actively with their basic skills and specialized knowledge of physics and mathematics or materials science.

For this purpose, we have established a course that combines “mathematical science and physics” with “materials science and engineering”. We lecture basic and application of mathematical science, physical science, materials science and materials engineering. And we educate and research that can contribute to creating innovation in next-generation industries and advancement of manufacturing.

Goal of our education

1. Graduates who are equipped with broad knowledge and a high level of expertise in mathematics or physics
   Graduates who can contribute to the development of scientific technology of mathematics and physics, the creation of new industries and the field of education
2. Graduates who are equipped with the basic knowledge and high level of expertise in science and engineering related to mathematics, physics and materials science.
   Graduates who are able to contribute to the development of industry and a sustainable society by metal production technologies such as machining processes and metal recycling.
3. Graduates who are equipped with the basic knowledge and high level of expertise related to mathematics, physics and functional materials science and engineering.
   Graduates who are able to contribute to the sustainable society by the development of new materials and advanced evaluation technology.
