Research Themes

Large-scale numerical simulation of unsteady flow phenomena in turbomachines

The turbomachinery is a machine that converts energy between a fluid and a machine via rotating blades. As a familiar example, it is used not only for ventilation fans and outdoor units of air conditioners, but also as wind turbines and gas turbines, which form the indispensable infrastructures for supporting our society. The gas turbine is a machine used in airplane engines and power generation. With the aim of developing highly efficient and highly reliable turbomachines, we are conducting research to clarify the flow field inside turbomachines by numerical simulation using high performance computers, so-called supercomputers.

Teaching Philosophy

I hope that students will not only acquire knowledge and skills related to mechanical engineering, but also cultivate autonomy and ingenuity through research activities.
