Research Themes

Providing intelligence to systems based on estimation theory and machine learning

In our present-day society, as everything becomes systematized quickly to improve efficiency, opportunities are increasing for us to have machines and computers do what humans used to do. To respond these needs, it is essential to develop systems with human-like learning and cognitive abilities. My laboratory is engaged in developing intelligence for various kinds of systems with optimization and estimation as the keywords. Particular efforts are focused on research into high presence sound reproduction and Tele-existence systems.

Teaching Philosophy

I encourage my students to take their studies seriously, and I create graduates who can use the latest information engineering knowledge and technology to contribute to the community.
