Research Themes

Elucidating the machining mechanism to achieve higher precision and efficiency in mechanical machining

With the dissemination of precision equipment such as digital cameras, high-precision machining has become necessary. High-efficiency and low-cost features are other indispensable factors. The mechanical machining process is a suitable choice to meet these requirements. Our research lab is studying how to clarify the machining mechanism with the objective of achieving higher precision and efficiency in machining. We have also proposed a new design guideline for machine tools based on this machining mechanism.

Teaching Philosophy

I strive to have my students learn the basics of mechanical machining and become capable of implementing logic-based machining.
