The Faculty of Science and Engineering at Iwate University promotes education and research aimed at harmonizing humans and the environment based on the philosophy of “soft-path science and engineering” toward the realization of a sustainable society. In particular, we focus on creating innovations that integrate science, engineering, and data science to promote innovations in information technology (DX) and environmental technology (GX), and nurture human resources who can contribute to solving issues facing the international and local communities.
By adopting an educational system that combines in-depth specialized knowledge with flexible cross-disciplinary learning, we nurture the next generation of leaders equipped to meet the needs of a changing society and pioneer the future.

The Faculty of Science and Engineering at Iwate University aims to nurture science and engineering professionals with both the information literacy and solid expertise required for the future society that Japan is aiming for, and who can contribute to solving problems faced by the international and local communities, including global environmental issues.
