Research Themes

Establishment of immortalized cells from endangered species and elucidation of invasion mechanism of bovine leukoma virus

The number of endangered species is increasing due to various reasons. We use primary cells from a wide range of endangered species to establish immortalized cells via gene transfection and then use them to analyze genomic and biological information. We also do research about the bovine leukemia virus that has caused serious economic losses to the livestock industry. Therefore, we are trying to elucidate the invasion mechanism of the bovine leukemia virus and develop preventive/therapeutic methods.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is to develop human resources who contribute to various fields using basic knowledge and observation skills via studying and researching molecular biology, cell biology, and virology.
