Fluid-fluid transition of hydrogen at room temperature

In collaboration with NIMS and Niigata University, Prof. Atsuko Nakayama, Mathematical Science and Physics Course, M.S. Yuya Serizawa, Graduate School of Arts and Science clarified the fluid-fluid transition of hydrogen at room temperature and 560 MPa and the ortho-para conversion  after the transition.

This is a fundamental and important finding that will lead to a breakthrough in the boil-off of liquefied storage of hydrogen, which is indispensable today, where hydrogen is widely expected to be used in social infrastructure.
