Research Themes

Development of the UV-LED and the UV sensor using ZnO single crystal

Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a compound of oxygen and zinc. ZnO is used by cosmetics and medicines, so it is closely related to our lives. ZnO which is the wideband gap semiconductor of the direct transition type is expected as high efficiency ultraviolet light emitting diode (UV-LED) and UV light receiving device. We work on development of the UV-LED and the high sensitive UV sensor using the ZnO single crystal substrates. In addition, we lay emphasis on the development of the radiation detector using a UV sensor and growth of high quality ZnO single crystal using hydrothermal method.

Teaching Philosophy

Gain the knowledge of electrical and electronics engineering throughout the experiments, I aim at cultivation of students who can be successful at home and abroad.
