Research Themes

Research and development of a large-scale liquid argon Time Projection Chamber

We are conducting research in particle physics, which aims to reveal the origin of matter and the history of the universe. In particular, we are developing a large-scale liquid argon detector with a weight of more than 10 kt to investigate oscillations of neutrinos produced by a high-energy accelerator and to search for proton decay events etc. These studies will enable precise measurement of matter-antimatter symmetry violation and verification of theories of forces.

Teaching Philosophy

I would like to not only teach basic knowledges and skills in Physics but also to help students gain experiences in creating knowledge and technologies that no one has ever known before, through research activities. I hope it leads to development of human resources who can set up their own problems and lead them to solutions.
