Research Themes
Development of new catalysts enabling efficient synthesis of pharmaceutical molecules
While the demand for pharmaceuticals continues to rise due to population aging and the spread of emerging infectious diseases, manufacturing costs in the pharmaceutical industry are increasing as a result of rising raw material and energy costs. Therefore, reducing manufacturing costs is essential for controlling drug prices and achieving sustainable healthcare. In our laboratory, from an organic chemistry perspective, we are engaged in the development of high-performance catalysts required for pharmaceutical synthesis, aiming to contribute to social welfare by enabling the efficient synthesis of pharmaceutical molecules.
Teaching Philosophy
Successful research requires a proactive attitude—thinking independently and taking action. I provide thorough guidance on research mindset and planning through daily experiments and discussions. In parallel, I foster essential qualities for researchers, such as independence, planning ability, and keen observation skills, with the aim of developing individuals who can thrive in society.
