Research Themes

Generation and applications of discharge plasma

My research interest is mainly focused on the generation and applications of discharge plasma, which is widely used for the improvement of the surface quality of materials, semiconductor device processing and so on. I am currently engaged in measuring the thermal flux from plasma to substrate, conducting research into low dielectric constant thin films, atmospheric-pressure plasma and microplasma and performing calculations on discharge plasma. In an effort to promote the application of atmospheric-pressure plasma, I have also been involved in research into surface treatments (hydrophilic, hydrophobic and nitriding treatments) of polymer materials together with researchers in and outside of the university.

Teaching Philosophy

My goal is to establish basic knowledge in mathematics, physics, electromagnetics, electrical circuits, electronic circuits and discharge plasma, which are needed for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to foster graduates with a wide field of scientific vision who can perform well in an era of globalization.
