Structure and classification theory of a new class of Lie algebras which are a generalization of affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras

The product of matrices satisfies the associative law but not the commutative law. If we define AB-BA as a product of two matrices A and B, this new product does not satisfy the associative law or the commutative law anymore. This algebra is called a Lie algebra. My research area is to study this kind of peculiar algebras. Lie algebras have contributed the development of algebra and have many applications to geometry and physics.
For the purpose to know the relation to other areas of mathematics, I sometimes study these algebras with professors in Iwate Prefectural University and Morioka University.

Teaching Philosophy

Mathematics is getting more important in our society nowadays. I work in mathematical education for college and graduate students. I hope that students study mathematics well in our university and that they will lead various projects in their occupations.
